Photography Props

As a photographer I know how expensive it can be to purchase items to help make your photos more visually interesting.   Not to mention finding a place to store them and that you want to avoid all your photographs having the same look.    Once you’ve used your props in a few photos, you start to want to give the next clients a new and different look.

We can help you out!   One day rentals for photographers will differ from the prices indicated, so send me a message to discuss.

Happy Tuesday after the Canada Day long weekend  –  stay cool and keep your beautiful pets out of your vehicles!

The vintage picnic basket and lovely old quilt I used in this engagement shoot are from Borrowed.

Brocante Mondays

Mondays are brocante days here at Borrowed.   Every Monday I start at one end of town and go to the other, stopping at every secondhand, vintage or collectibles shop along the way.   What am I looking for?  Lace curtains, tablecloths, napkins, handkerchiefs and lace and sometimes I’ll find the odd cup and saucer.   Some weeks it’s a goldmine, others it’s the shaft!!   But it’s always fun!   This week I felt like I was at Macy’s boxing day sale when I was picking up one end of something and someone else was picking up the other, telling me it was in her pile!   Guess I’ll have to start getting out there earlier.

This week my favorite find was a set of six hand embroidered dinner napkins.   I brought them home, laundered and pressed them (but I haven’t gone so far as to starch anything yet!) and they look beautiful.

We’re Open!

It has taken months and months and lots of fun and hard work and now we are ready to show you what we have!

I will be uploading pictures and information over the next few days and in the meantime, please check out my Facebook page at:  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Something-Borrowed-Vintage-Rentals/266666536701540

To get us started, here are some photos of a bench from as found to rental-ready.    I’ll post more of these start to finish projects here and also highlight new purchases.   I expect my inventory to be fairly fluid – I’ll keep pieces that seem popular and change out other pieces for new items.

If you have any suggestions on stock, please let me know.   I am already looking for wine barrels, a cast iron tub and some more church pews!

Any help you could provide to spread the word to vintage inspired or shabby chic brides, event planners and photographers would be appreciated so much!
